Yesterday I happened to notice this event publicized on the RGT page and thought “well, I was going to ride at that time anyway” and joined in. Turns out I was the only participant who had voice chat enabled so I basically got to have an hour-long conversation with true Sufferlandrian and first North American to wear the maillot jaune Alex Stedia!
That’s a really neat experience, thanks for sharing!
I keep thinking about joining one of these rides but things are too hectic in my house to have a hope of hearing anything. Next winter for me.
Despite the actual weather I have already switched off winter mode, as I’m using every minute trying to prepare for trip to Japan next month. I wander through the w
inter Wonderland in rose coloured glasses right now!(except for the two hours snowblowing last weekend
The snow is level with my 3’ deck in the back…
In all seriousness though, I took the xc skis out of my car today. That is my official I’m done with winter action. My skis live in the car for winter.
I have to admit, when it comes to outdoor riding, I’m a giant baby. Warm and little to no wind, definitely no rain, or I’m inside “suffering” on the trainer.
Well, we have more than a country in common it seems!
I do the same. There’s enough stress in life I have decided to only cycle outside when I know I’ll enjoy it or,well, at least when the weather is decent. Fair weather Sufferlandrian? Sure, that can be a thing.
