I rode the Gold Rush Group Ride and the bots were terrible!
I understand you want to sell steering units, but making the app unenjoyable is not the way to do it. I had bots passing through me only to block me. The autosteer function was not working, putting in a 300+ watt dig and the power number goes red, but it would not make me pass the bot. There was more bumping and shoving than the most aggressive race I’ve ever seen, more like a demolition derby. There needs to be some balance to this, a group ride should not be a fist fight.

@oldmannick they proposed a list of steering changes last week (on the RGT FB group). There’s no plans to reinstate auto-draft for the majority of riders: The decision to require manual steering for any drafting benefit was a core design principle that we will stick to for the foreseeable future. We believe that this will evolve the experience of indoor riding. The only exception from this rule: users with accessibility needs. But bots will be back to auto-drafting in a couple of months. …

In the roadmap mentioned by jcolp, they also said that bots should get back to autosteering too (to form groups, without these random aggressivity)
