Hello!
I was on a bike ride yesterday. The route is about 49km / 500m elevation. I have cycled it several times.
I recorded it with two devices:
- Samsung Watch Ultra and
- Wahoo Elemnt Ace.
Both devices measured significantly more distance and recorded exceptionally high speed data.
- Samsung measured 57 km and max. 90 km/h.
- Wahoo measured 60 km and max. 139 km/h.
I cycled this route for the 3rd time now, and I have never experienced such a discrepancy before. I have not noticed such exceptional speed data anywhere else.
I checked the route recorded by Samsung and Wahoo. I found the same error in both tracks. The incorrect recording happened IN A STANDING POSITION (about 10 minutes of rest), the Watch was on my arm (I moved a few meters back and forth), the Wahoo was on the bike, it didn’t move at all. Both devices automatically stop the workout when stationary.
What the hell could be causing this error on both devices?
Why isn’t there an algorithm built into the Samsung Watch Ultra and the Wahoo that automatically filters out such interference and blatant speed data? Why does such nonsense get included in the track?
