So, I’ve made it through Sufferlandaria passport control and enjoyed the “No Place Like Home” music track. The forum thread for that workout hinted that new workouts with enhanced suffering are on the way. So let’s open up the music discussion.

I’d like the minions to get into Bluegrass, Celtic, and other acoustic-driven music from around the world. I’ve got a playlist used for no-vid workouts built around fast-moving bluegrass and related music, and it really helps with cadence builds.

So I’ve shown my cards. What else is out there that the minions should start listing to and getting GvA excited about?

I typically disable the music in SYSTM to play my own in the background, especially after the first time doing a workout, as I tend to prefer a variety mix of upbeat electronic/dance/r&b/hip-hop.

Usually I just create station in Apple Music or Spotify or similar based on a song in one of those categories, or pick an available playlist, but curious if anyone has any public playlists they especially like and want to share.

Music is so personal… I had to look up ‘bluegrass’ - could tolerate a small amount of it peppered throughout Sufferfest, but I wouldn’t want too much of it. I like the idea of mixing up the sounds, though.

I enjoy a bit of trance or dance music when doing high cadence novids. Thank goodness we can choose to listen to anything we want! Personally, I love the original soundtracks.

Rock and heavy metal are my favourites. Deep Purple, Iron maiden, Van Halen, Rush, AC/DC, Thin Lizzy etc… guaranteed to get those legs fired up!!

I’d second the Celtic and Bluegrass however music is so personal it would be hard to plesse the masses.

I, like others, use my own playlust when appropriate…

o Mary Black
o The Pipe Band of the Royal Tank Regiment.
o The Chieftains
o The Band of the Irisg Gaurd

Same here, heavy riffs keep me moving. For leg days I queue up Judas Priest, Motörhead, and some newer stuff like Gojira. Saw Mastodon last year and the live mix felt like a jet engine, still had ringing after. Oddly, my last concert wasn’t metal, grabbed [Sting Tickets](https://www.seatpin.com/sting-tickets) through a marketplace where sellers set prices, sometimes under face value. Checkout felt safe and their chat replied in minutes when I panicked about delivery, plus they had a clear guarantee.

I love a bit of electronic/techno with indoor workouts. Recently been enjoying the wipEout game sountracks by Cold Storage:
[wipE’out’’ - The Zero Gravity Soundtrack | CoLD SToRAGE](https://coldstorage.bandcamp.com/album/wipeout-the-zero-gravity-soundtrack)
..and stuff like Underworld, Orbital, Leftfield, Justice etc.

My workout and even outdoor cycling music is very much different from what I usually listen to. Here is my Audax Brevet playlist: [Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6hqFGtsUl9HGnnJH6NmFwt?si=e0c258d4b37f43ce)

which includes extremly guilty “pleasures” like

https://www.youtube.com/embed/CconmbbZWJQ?feature=oembed&wmode=opaque&list=RDCconmbbZWJQ

Pretty awful remix of a pretty stupid 70ties song which my punkrock heart absolutely detests. However(!), this in my ears while riding at speed on the open road … yes, please!

Used this today to get through some ridiculously hard intervals. It’s basically unbadged Jilted Generation-era Prodigy - which is an excellent thing in my books.

Same; as a rule I’m not a fan of the type of music used in the workouts. No biggy, although I really wish there were separate toggles to turn off voice and music.

I usually gravitate towards [Fantasy metal](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/74Gn5HnRj2APyUbU5tHqP6) for harder workouts; [Windrose](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1ogOikYttebhGAy3zpmkEX), Powerwolf, Gloryhammer, among others. Lighter workouts get Folk/Filk–engaging without being heavy–, and often audiobook for zone 2.

Oh, now you are speaking my language!

Huge wipeout fan here, and it’s what got me into electronic music to start with way back when. There are a few tracks used in sufferfests that have reminded me of Orbital, etc, but I’ve never been coherent enough to write them down or screenshot them.

I usually love the mix of rock and techno used in the classic sufferfests. I’m not sure if it’s from being in the same generation as Sir David or similar tastes, or both-but I find it matches the world well for me.

I enjoy a huge range of music from throat singing to doom metal, but for Sufferfest workouts I feel no need to mix it up… just my thing! Especially when the BPM matches RPM.

Reminds me of a song my father-in-law used to sing to his grandkids. At one point my wife had a vhs tape of him singing it. And I had a similar feeling of being tricked when doing Half is Easy for the first time.

I love most of the Sufferfest music. Almost always feels perfect for the efforts. Some I can tell may be more acquired tastes. I have a wide taste in music, tho I lean towards more electronic/trance/house/techno.

The only workout I’ve ever felt compelled to create a different soundtrack for was Nine Hammers.

I started out trying to add some humor and variety to the soundtrack and slipped into a bit more electronic/trance towards the end. There’s a link to it here:

I ran an internet radio station for a few years called “Techno Prisoners” on Live365. Played primarily trance music, but some other electronic varieties thrown in for variety. I also produced my own mixes, too.

That’s awesome! I am quite overloaded with things right now but I’ve bookmarked this to check out on a date I can give it proper attention.

I love a good mix. In fact in my huge collection are some amateur mixes that you can tell are just not totally precise, not what most would seem “a wonderful mix”but I love them just the same.those show the human touch.

Thank you.

I have found that FF becomes more manageable if I turn off the workout’s music and play my own musical choices.
