So every 4-6 weeks I have a 3.5 hour drive, with a couple days of full schedule, often no training time, then another 3.5 hours back home. I’m trashed afterwards from the drive and the activity, I try to make it as easy as possible and limit my commitments but that isn’t all that easy! Wonder if these should be on my rest week, though it is anything but rest! Often no time to train either. Any suggestions are welcome!

Yep - I’d make those your easy weeks and plan for a much lower and easier load. And be realistic about what it is possible to achieve. I have something similar with travel and heavy work days. You might think that a few days with limited exercise should allow for a hard session after the drive home or the next day but I always find I’m exhausted and struggle to do what I have planned. Better to plan in some rest and an easy first session to get back in the groove again.

I do something similar — I just call those my easy weeks and don’t overthink it. Trying to squeeze in hard sessions around a packed schedule usually backfires for me.

@colin.ledlie Yup - the body doesn’t differentiate between training stress and other life stress so you are exactly right.
