I took part in the local middle distance triathlon this past Saturday. The event has gained popularity in recent years and this year it was actually the Swedish Championship for both middle distance and Sprint (held on Friday). For the first time in the 9 or 10 years I’ve been doing the event, I chose to compete in my age group (rather than just fun run). After my registration, I proceeded to do an excellent impression of the couch potato from The Wretched, engaging only in some panic training in the last three weeks. As expected, then, it was a total disaster (by my own expectations) from start to finish. But I did finish, in a glorious suffering kind of way.
