RGT is dead…free Z****?

With an open-world where you can take turns at every crossing, I don’t see how it would be relevant to display a “full map elevation profile”.
It’s of course different for events on predefined route.
Maybe a “next 8kms” profile or something close…or something bigger at least

BUT IT’S MY DREAM, MAN! DON’T SHATTER MY DREAM

From the coaches write-up, my take was that the workouts are designed to mimic or showcase different aspects of the peloton - while yeah, being a workout as well. Plus swag…

In addition to the rotating Guest Worlds, I just realized this weekend that you can ride other routes in any world when doing a workout (before I had just been doing free rides or Tour of Watopia routes).

Once you select a workout, you then select a route, and if you scroll down you can pick from other Guest Worlds that aren’t currently active.

Too bad we can’t choose to ride the workouts in….
Sufferlandria!!

I ride a System workout at the same time as a free ride or other ride in Zwift to gain the XP. That way I still get my structured planned workout. It’s weird running two platforms one on my PC and one on my iPad, but it works.

Yep. If anyone looked at my ride history on Strava there are very few Zwift rides. I’ve deleted most of them. Yet I’m level 37 because of all the dual-recording of my Sufferfest and SYSTM structured workouts.

I’ll get a few more over the next couple months until my 3 month trial runs out.

There are “hacks” so you can do a free ride or a route in any world on any day regardless if it’s an active route for that day.

Yes, zwifthacks is a site providing extra apps to do things like overlay a map onto the screen, or switch the default locations in the config files to your choosing, for a single login, or always if preferred.

Workout 1 in the bag. Was i awesome? No. Did it hurt a lot? Yes. Yes it did.

Though if you’d told me I’d have finished 25th out of 125 me first go, i’d not have believed you.

Very pleased. Contract in sight!

Zwift Academy #2 down. Smaller but more competitive heat (attrition?). 10% of the field quit.

Cracked like an egg during FTP effort 3/4 at the hour mark. Did I quit? No I did not. Rode back into it, finished with top 10 in sight. Again proud of myself.

Pro contract in sight.
The odds are never zero.

I am doing ZA but workouts out of order, long versions. So, w/o5 Steady state, followed by w/o2 Fatigue fighter then have just done w/06 All out burn. Chosen the order to get the endurance benefit. I have really enjoyed them , not in a Sufferfest kind of way, but, well you know…suffering
The free rides where you go all out have been really interesting, somehow easier than similar numbers in erg, at least at first and then , as i push on, boy do they bite. The main thing is i am having to pace and still pushing better numbers in free ride and seeing a little ftp boost. Go me. More twitchy w/o’s to come now and that should get me readyish for the races and those awful awful hard fast starts.

I find the Zwift ERG control is much more lenient than SYSTM. My power levels vary much more and too often I get half a star for an interval for not sticking close enough to the target power even tho I’m in ERG mode.

I would guess they do that because they do not want to “discourage people”, and then lose customers. In the old days when I used exercise bicycles in the gym they were just like that as well.

Interesting- I don’t find that at all. I have a NEOBIKE and perhaps that is the difference? All stars for me :grinning: Actually, I haven’t noticed erg being more variable in Zwift using my wahoo power pedals either.

Yeah @bob_dynowski, I would agree. admittedly I’ve not done much in Zwift, but I’ve found the ZA workouts to be every bit the hellscapes that they would appear to be. Cracked me just like some SUFF vids.

I have question:
I tried to use both Zwift and SYSTM at the same yesterday but the ANT+ connection can only be detected by either platforms and not both.
Like for instance, if my pedal power meter, speed sensor and HRM was connected to SYSTM first, it wouldn’t connect to Zwift (actually it shows connected but shows ‘no signal’) and likewise, if the above sensors establishes connection with Zwift first, the sensors can’t connect to SYSTM.

Is the issue coming from the limitation of the ANT+ connection itself or the limitations of the platforms?
Or I can’t use both platforms on the computer at the same time?

I think you need two computer devices to do a dual recording. I love to see how you can make it work on a single device though.

If your power meter has bluetooth as well, you can connect one to ANT+ and the other to Bluetooth. But I thought you should be able to do ANT+ on both (but maybe you need different connections).

I have in the past used one computer for both - I don’t recall if I was using dual bluetooth or doing ANT+/BT, but I have had system minimized except for the workout overlayed on top of the Zwift world. I think if there is a limitation, it’s around the power meter (I had done mine with a Kickr)
