# Rizer compatibility

I wonder if the _Elite Rizer_ is compatible with _Wahoo SYSTM_. As far as I can tell, it’s more or less the competitors equivalent to Wahoo’s own _Kickr Climb_. While it seems the Elite Rizer works fine with _Zwift_ and other platforms like _Bkool_ or _Rouvy_, _SYSTM_ seems more like a closed environment in that case.
Can anyone tell about first hand experience with using the _Rizer_ with _SYSTM_. And can anyone from the Development team share, if it’s at least on the roadmap to open _SYSTM_ to third party climbing equipment like with any other smart trainers?

Sir, the Elite Rizer does not work on SYSTM. The Rizer does not communicate directly to any cycling platform, it goes through the connected smart trainer to get the necessary data information to operate. I tried using my Rizer with my KICKR indoor trainer with no luck, and it also does not work when using an Elite Justo indoor trainer. As you mentioned, the Rizer works well on other indoor cycling platforms, so I can only conclude that Wahoo wants to restrict the climb feature on SYSTM to Wahoo products only. Wahoo could certainly clear the air on this issue if they wanted to.

I bookmarked this thread with the wild dream Wahoo actually still checked this forum. Edited for accuracy haha.
I am sad because as others have also noted, it doesn’t seem like Wahoo management cares to let us know if other trainer incline products will be ever allowed to pay nice with Systm suffer fest.
I am happy (?) because the incompatibility is saving me $1200+Cdn (?)

I didn’t check the forum and bought a Rizer, boom! Now I can use it as a decoration 🙄
