Time of day for virtual rides

I am hoping to put some group workouts on Zwift and Training Peaks Virtual using some original SUF .zwo power profiles for the week of the upcoming tour. Hopefully, folks can get together and ride together. Please let me know what time zone (A-F) you are closest to, and at what time of day you might best consider riding. Thanks in advance!

Hi Joe.

I’m in Time Zone B. For the next month, I’m sticking pretty close to my training plan as I’m preparing for some BIG events (for me) at the beginning of April. That being said, I ride most days starting at 9 or 10 am (the joy of retirement) and if your group workout doesn’t take me too far off my plan then I’d be happy to join you.

I use TPV

I don’t use Zwift.

Thanks for that, Steve. I don’t know how this will all shake out. Hopefully some folks will find it useful, and it may serve as a template for a new format to use next year. We shall see…

Closest to B (-6 to be precise). I also have an active TPv subx. See y’all (or not) at or near the start line!

Edit: Sorry, @SirJoe, I didn’t read the instructions :man_facepalming:t3:. As for preferred time, I typiucally ride around 11 am Winnipeg time, but please do NOT use me in scheduling. I’m not much of a joiner at the best of times but will follow the thread and if I can swing it, I’d pop in for a bit.

Thank you, Sir. As you might imagine, these are both testing times, and testing grounds, for Sir David’s small (but powerful) group of masochists.

C here

Thank you, Sir Tim. Do you have a particular time you like to start your indoor cycling workouts (although some would prefer to be outside :slightly_smiling_face:)?

I’m in A (-8). My riding times are usually starting at 5 or 6am and finishing around 7am during the week. But of course, there are always shenanigans.

Hi @SirJoe , I’m halfway between A and B in the -6 time zone. Typical weekend start time is 9:00AM Central, and weekdays I’m flexible, 9:00AM to 7:00PM. Let’s have an outstanding Tour of SUF!

Hey Sir Joe

I’m in TZ D and usually ride around 10:00am or a bit later.

How will we recognize the workouts on TPV?

Once I get my head wrapped around this, I’ll put something out here and on Facebook. This may not amount to anything grand this year, but my develop moving ahead.

Well, I spent most of today trying to get a Custom Workout into a group ride on Zwift. It has defeated me.

I think it can only be accomplished in conjunction with another App such as Training Peaks or Trainer Road.

I will beat myself up again tomorrow trying to see if I can get it to work on Training Peaks Virtual.

That’s all for now…

Anything small is good and a step appreciated :folded_hands:t3::clap::four_leaf_clover:

It’s rather easy to build via the on TraingPeaks web app and the ‘build workout’ feature. It uses comprehensive customizable building blocks. and make it available to TPV.
A bit overwhelming at the beginning but you learn fast to use it efficiently

Just a friendly reminder, for the group rides, please make sure you dual-record in SYSTM for the workouts to count towards your badge.

Have fun and see you on the road :volcano:

@SirJoe If it is on your SYSTM calendar it should appear in Zwift under workouts. Just schedule a group ride for the duration of the workout and have participants run the workout in SYSTM and they can also select the workout in Zwift under custom if they want to see it on the screen.

Don’t forget @SirJoe that a defeat is only another step on the road to Victory.
