Let’s talk Alp d’Huez

Not as tame as it appears.

You don’t really recover during the “recovery” sections.

It’s not easy for us mere mortals to throw down a full power sprint after an hour at threshold+

Oy….which means whey protein w/added natural protein.

That is all.

Agreed that it was tough

@Eric This is the stuff that really makes you appreciate how much power and fitness the pros have especially since they are hitting these climbs sometimes after 1, 2 or 3 hours of racing.

Is that whey with raw eggs? :scream:

It really does. I did the étape du tour in 2022, the stage that finished up there and pidcock won. With 160km, the Galibier and Croix de Fer in my legs it took all I had to just get up the Alpe in a little under 1 hr 30. Sep Kuss then went and set the KoM at 36 mins on that stage, and he had two weeks of racing in his legs. Unreal. Had a crack at it recently with fresh legs and just did the climb and it still took just under an hour. Watched the TdF Femmes go up there last weekend, the speed was incredible.
