During last week Wahooligan tour I really liked 
the progress features able to get all routes in one place and easy to see progress with green check marks 
when completed. I am requesting to include same features for all upcoming monthly challenges planned since it gives great visuals for progress and also helps to check back to reflect in next year.

Agreed, it would be great to have progress reported within the badge.
The question has come up before. See some of the conversation on this topic. Apparently there are some technical issues on the back end that prevent showing progress on this type of challenge, even though it works in badges like The Tour.
