Lately I’ve been realizing that it’s often the little things that make the biggest difference on the bike. It doesn’t have to be expensive gear or a major training change. For me, riding more consistently and paying a bit more attention to recovery has made every ride feel better. It got me wondering what has worked for everyone else. Was it changing your training routine, dialing in your nutrition, getting more sleep, adjusting your bike fit, or something completely different? I’d love to hear what made the biggest difference for you. I’m always looking for new ideas, and I’m sure others here could benefit from your experience too.
Tyre pressure. When I got my Creo 2 from Specialized (Nottingham), they inflated 700c 47mm Tracer Pro tyres to 50 psi. Ride very hard and saddle pain. I later changed to tubeless and checked Silca tyre calculator, now run at 30 to 33 psi - comfort on rough ground now.
Oh that’s a good one. Comfort, performance, the whole thing.
Oh come on! All these bots with their eloquent general questions ![]()
I mean maybe but it’s still a decent discussion
I can definitely relate to this. I used to just pump my tires to whatever pressure was written on the sidewall without giving it much thought. Once I started using the recommended pressure for my weight, the difference was obvious. The ride felt smoother, I had better grip, and I wasn’t getting beat up on rough roads anymore. It’s such a simple adjustment, but honestly, it made my rides a lot more enjoyable.
