Some Problem that everyone face

Hey cyclists, I wanted to ask a question, as every cyclist faces some difficulties in life, and I am facing a problem right now, so I wanted to ask all my cyclist buddies here so that I can get some help and knowledge, as this platform helps every cyclist to improve their knowledge and performance.
So does nightfall affect cycling performance? Because after every 20 to 30 days I am having nightfall, and because of this I am going into stress and depression and worrying about if it would decrease my cycling performance.
So I don’t watch any stupid stuff or think any negative stuff, but still I face nightfall,

It’s likely a common issue that many face but may not discuss.

Like a lot of issues it stress and anxiety about it can cause a vicious cycle.

Do you do any yoga, meditation, or other mind/body exercises?

Depending on your age it can be more or less common with different solutions.

Thank you so much for replying. yes i recently started going yoga and meditation and my age is 20 i am into stress because i want to have a healthy body and want to increase stamina and life a healthy life but whenever this thing’s happens at night i get mentally disturbed so i wanted to ask you guys that have you also experienced it? Is it normal for a sports person like cyclists?and how to overcome this things.

First, welcome back @RICK1 ! Second, when you say “nightfall” are you referring to the time of day when the sun sets and it starts getting dark? I did a google search about “nightfall” and that was the definition that it gave. I just wanted to make sure that is what you are referring to and not something else.

Also, you said that after 20 or 30 days you are experiencing “nightfall”. Can you elaborate a bit?

No eric nightfall meaning is something else please read my above message again and search it on Google c

You’re young so it is more common.

If it happens on a regular schedule, or always after 3 or 4 weeks of intense workouts, there may be a correlation.

Do you workout hard every week or do you have regularly scheduled recovery weeks? At your age a 3:1 weeks hard/recovery is typical. Otherwise it could be a symptom of overtraining.

It’s likely to lessen as you get older and the more mind/body exercising you do like yoga and meditation. And if it’s only once or twice a month it’s likely normal and nothing to worry about. However if it does bother you and causes you extra stress then it wouldn’t hurt to pop in to see your doctor to have a chat and relieve some of your anxiety.

I do have recovery sessions in a week. And the thing i likely face problem once a month or two. But half of my stress was coming form the thinking that why it is happening to me and do anyone eles face this problem? Is this problem normal? Do others have experience it? So i think that i am just thinking to much. But after getting an reply form you its good that i am able to understand it t

It is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. It happens to just about every young male and you shouldn’t stress about it. It won’t have any impact on your cycling performance.

I agree with what @colin.ledlie said.

It’s normal. Maybe annoying. But normal.

Urban Dictionary is your friend on this one…

Huh, well, I was WAY OFF! @RICK1 . I had never heard of nightfall until your post and everything that I’ve read about it says that it is perfectly healthy and nothing to worry about. Now, get back to training!
