If you don’t find the irony traumatic, it’s time for another FTP Test!
If you notice, the transcribed audio in several places says writer instead of the speaker’s “rider”.
So perhaps they are training in English literature?
yep. It’s what happens when you give the job of translation/transcription to a bot.
Since sustained efforts are a weakness for me, this was not an easy workout.
It was also a good opportunity to work on my breathing.
It is also a sign of laziness on Wahoo’s part. I do a podcast, and I always review the transcript against the audio for correctness.
Hmm, sorry, but I’m not impressed. Although the underlying workout is good the quality of the video and sound is not. The video rarely matches the efforts, i. e. doing the “over” part while the EF riders are freewheeling. The audio reminds me of royalty free elevator “music”.
Got it done… Can’t wait for stage 3,back to real suf stuff!
And done. Thank goodness for Netflix

Thanks for the heads up. I will subscribe to the podcast.
@Ctknov996 and anyone else, icymi, from the before times The Knowledge Podcast by wahoo has a good number of exceptional podcasts in a single topic format all in nice bite-sized nuggets of about 15 mins or so. I really loved these and the short format suited my short attention span perfectly. Sir @Coach.Mac.C did say, quite some time ago, that they’d return but we all know about minions and their issues with time.
Anyway, here is the link. Definitely worth the time to check them out

Thoughts on “Stage 2”. Hadn’t done this video before - normally I don’t watch infomercials. TBF, I’m a huge EF Cycling fan, so that was nice, though the actual intervals portions were pretty average to look at. Workout was…meh. Standard over-unders. 25 total minutes at effort?
Aside from the infomercial, overall production quality wasn’t great. OH MY GOD WAHOO DOES NOBODY QC THESE THINGS? Since the closed captioning was forced on me, have to say I haven’t seen CC that bad since a Bollywood film marathon with my daughters over the holidays. Did you guys even watch the video?
2 of 5 shields - and one of those is solely for random Alison Jackson and Kristen Faulkner sightings. Would not repeat. Not Tour worthy.
More about Retro Gear - Stage 2 Tour of SUF. In the 1980s it was not uncommon for race bikes to come equipped with 52-42 chainrings and 6 or 7 speed freewheels on the rear hub. These freewheels could be chosen according to the type of terrain where you raced or trained. Where I live (Illinois) you could race with a 13-18 straight block. If you lived someplace hillier you’d go for a 13-21 or 13-23 freewheel so you could force your way uphill. In those days no one was spinning on the climbs. Instead you crunched up the climbs. More modern chainring combinations and longer cage derailleurs have made gearing much more generous today. Higher cadence on the flats and on the climbs is now a choice, where before it was an impossibility. Your knees are thankful for this progress. Here’s one of my freewheels, a Regina Extra 12-21 made in Italy .
Those of us in our seventies are grateful for those gears as well.
I had to dial it down too! And then I had to dial it down again and again…I guess I am not feeling my best
