FIT file to bolt V3

Why cant I import a workout(.fit) file into my bolt V3 ? It apparently imports ok into the Wahoo app because it says it’s imported but doesn’t appear anywhere in the app, under routes or on the bolt head unit in routes or workouts. Any ideas as its driving me nuts!!!

What are you trying to get the fit file to do?

Be loaded as a route or something else?

It’s a fit file from the igniter workout that I want to put into my bolt as a workout so I can use it outside for a warm up it for
my TT’s

OK you don’t do it that way.

Three ways to get a planned workout on a Gen3 ELEMNT:

  1. Add it to your calendar in SYSTM. Workouts scheduled today and tomorrow will show up in the Workouts part of the Ready To Ride menu.
  2. From the Wahoo App, find the workout you want under the Explore tab. Hit Start Workout, then Send to ELEMNT.
  3. Get a workout pushed from a synced app like Trainingpeaks, Trainerroad, or intervals.icu.

Unfortunately there is no way to have a favorite workout pre-loaded. I’ve suggested they have a starred workout feature in WA and that those workouts always be synced. If you like this please contact CS and suggest it as well.

The other reason you don’t do it that way is because fit files are used for route generation, not workout generation.

If you have a completed ride in WA, you can click the dots in the upper right and create a route. If you import a fit file that has GPS into WA it will try and make a route from it.

Many Thanks, just a point. I don’t have the “explore” tab in my wahoo app unless it’s somewhere else other than at the bottom of the screen like the others, I only have it in the old element app when I was using the original bolt
Cheers

Sorry yes I do have the explore tab in the wahoo app but only routes and no workouts
Cheers

Just a thought, my subs have just expired so could that be the reason why that workout which is in my calendar has not synced to my bolt. Also, how long do they stay on the bolt?

thanks again

Yeah if you don’t have a SYSTM subscription you won’t see the stuff in Explore.

In that case, you would see any workouts pushed by a 3rd party app in the Today tab. They show up (I think) the day before they’re scheduled and stay for the day after they’re scheduled.

It’s weird but you might be able to make it work from intervals.icu

Definitely possible using their workout builder.

I think Trainer Day also has a workout builder along with some free workouts that might suffice for a short warmup.
