I have been watching a few of the older Wahoo fitness videos with Neal and a guest and have noticed that when the resistance rises the erg mode on their trainers keeps the power at exactly the watts shown regardless of their cadence as it should. Is this a feature on their kickr trainers/bikes as on my Direto the power fluctuates a bit either way of the target power as my cadence fluctuates either side of the target.
Feature of Wahoo trainers. They call it “erg mode power smoothing” and it’s turned on by default for some reason that’s beyond me. I call it “big fat lie mode”

Yep. Toooo smoooth to be troooo. I ride a Saris Hammer which is among the best at ERG mode and use 3 second smoothing in the SYSTM app. That works out well and I get power traces with fluctuations similar to, Trainerroad, Zwift… It’s also very similar to what I get with 3 second averaging the power meters on my bikes.
