New Here – Need Help Getting Started with Wahoo X

Hi everyone,

I am new to the Wahoo X community and just getting started with indoor training. I have heard great things about Wahoo X and wanted to dive in to improve my fitness and stay consistent with my rides.

Right now, I am still figuring out the best way to use the app and all its features. I do really appreciate some tips from more experienced users on how to get the most out of Wahoo X especially with structured workouts, syncing data or even setting up a training plan.

Also, is there a favorite beginner workout or series you do recommend starting with?

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions, Excited to be part of the community.

Best regards by Moe

Welcome, @moe313! Once you’ve done a ramp test, Half Monty, so that your trainer is set at least roughly where it should be, then I recommend the workout, “Getting Away With It.” It was one of my first workouts and its storyline is fun and very repeatable. It has a bit of cadence work, little bit of everything. Another great introduction to the Sufferfest culture and humor is “No Place Like Home.” Since its storyline is that you are returning after vacation, it seems like a good fit for someone just starting with SYSTM. If you’d prefer more variety, look at “Explore SYSTM” in the Plans menu.

Welcome to the great land of Sufferlandria, Moe, and remember — once you are a citizen, you can never leave! :winking_face_with_tongue:

I second the welcome words, @moe313 ! Many of us love it here, and we hope you will too.

Another approach is to load a one-week fitness prep plan in SYSTM, and go all the way with the Full Frontal test, that generates all your numbers. When I started a few years ago I did a Full Frontal right away and then tried a 12-week All Purpose plan. By the end of that, I’d been introduced to a lot of the wide variety of workouts available.

Just a quick note about plans. When choosing a plan you can choose start and end dates for the plan. Then after the plan is loaded into your calendar you can manually move workouts (drag and drop) if you need to in order to accommodate conflicts. It can be a bit cumbersome, but it is possible!
