Roam/Bolt Layout

Here’s a question for you Roam/Bolt users: what is your screen setup?

I constantly fiddle with the layouts of my Roam’s screens to try to figure out a “go-to” layout (and so I can see the screens!)

I don’t run power on the road, so shelved all of those metrics, but there are still so many options!

Heart rate (zone color)

Power (3 seconds)

Cadence

Current Speed

Distance

Active time

Time of day

Most of the time zoom in to show only the top 2 or 3 fields, zoom out only on long endurance rides

  1. Screen is the map as the standard. If I had a cadence sensor, it would be on this page as well.
  2. the overview of speed/riden distance / time etc. will change descent to current HR
  3. HR zones overview

Was talking to a friend recently about the complexity of hobbys or – if one doesn’t like the term – things one is dedicated to. Cycling has become very complex. I have that one friend I occasionally ride with: no head unit, no sensors, no indoor training, no platform memberships, no Strava, no nothing. She dropped the Eddie Merckx quote the other day: “Just ride your bike.”

I don’t have a power meter so my main metric is HR

Workout data screen ( main page)

Heart Rate (zone colour)

Cadence

Workout Time (total) ( I don’t care about moving time, i’m always on the clock to get home and pick up the kids or make dinner)

Time of day ( same reason as above)

Distance (workout)

Current Speed ( vs workout average)

Temperature

Battery

Phone Battery

Lap data (screen is use for intervals)

Current active lap time

last lap active time

Heart rate ( zone colour)

cadence

Lap number

Workout time ( total)

Distance (Lap)

Avg Speed (Lap)

Avg Speed (last Lap)

Summit Segments - I used this for a couple of months when it first came out but I disliked the high battery drain.

Map I rarely use the map. On the rare occasion I’m riding on new roads and following a route I’ve downloaded onto my Bolt, I stay on the main screen and rely on the LED turn signals and pop-up notifications. Mostly I just ride from my house and when half my times up I turn around and ride home.

Ha! Fair.

Didn’t realize this came with additional battery drain over normal function?

Sorry to clarify I meant Strava Live segments, which does use more battery because the processor is doing additional work and having to interrogate the segment database on Strava over mobile date via your phone.
