Why can’t we have support for virtual shifting? Wahoo is selling trainers with the cog pre installed, it is great to switch bikes quickly, no matter how many speeds they have.
And FW has to support it for Zwift, why not moving to SYSTM as well? Some workouts require slope mode, would make sense to be able to use the Clicks for shifting. It’s a no brainer.
I wouldn’t hold out much hope in any new features coming to SYSTM. It seems that integration into the Wahoo App is the direction The Company is moving.
I’ve got the Zwift Play controllers and am able to use them in SYSTM (and any other indoor training app like TP virtual etc) via a third party mobile app qzfitness
It’s a bit of a thing to set up as it’s designed to connect pretty much everything to everything but once done it has worked flawlessly for me. The developer is also super responsive.
I also know some folks who will run Systm and Zwift concurrently (I’ve done this too), where Zwift is the “controller” so you can use the virtual shifting, and Systm reads power. That works really well too provided you have subs to both.
Side note with this: if you’re doing a No Vid, don’t like the video, or just feel like rawdogging a workout while you stare at numbers, the entire SYSTM library is in the Wahoo App.
I quite like the Wahoo App over SYSTM for no vids, you can customize your Indoor Cycling workout profile with more data fields and stuff.
The only other downside to doing a workout in WA over SYSTM is that it doesn’t give you credit for doing the workout towards the Awards / badges in the SYSTM progress tab, so if you’re badge hunting, stick with SYSTM for those.
I Have a Wahoo Kickr V6, on Rouvy, bought specifically to use virtual shifting with a used Zwift cog I got on ebay. I had an old bike complete with bars, saddle and cranks ready to use on it. Getting the virtual gears to work was a complete failure. Thinking the cog click may be faulty, I bought a new upgraded click V2 but still no success.
I’ve had several goes at resolving the problem but have always been beaten by the complexity of the solution.
I’m eighty three years old and doing very well in my age group on Rouvy. The hills are OK but I’m missing some large gears for the steep descents.
When is it going to be possible to get all these component parts to connect easily and lower my blood pressure? At the moment the click seems to connect, and is recognised in Rouvy but then drops out of bluetooth after a few seconds. It’s infuriating. Is there a solution? I hope so.
I’d definitely like to see virtual shifting added to SYSTM too. It seems like a feature that would make life a lot easier, especially for those of us using the Wahoo trainers with the Zwift Cog. Being able to swap bikes without worrying about the drivetrain is a huge convenience.
In the meantime, the suggestions about using the Wahoo App or running Zwift alongside SYSTM are helpful, even if they’re more of a workaround than a real solution. Hopefully Wahoo has this on their roadmap because native support would make the experience much smoother.
