Say whatever you like about Attacker, Cobbler, the inspiration series, Norway - Who Dares is the peak of Sufferfest, IMO.

Tunes, targets, great video. My absolute favourite. Just seeing it on the Tour schedule inspired me and that inspiration carried me through The Cure.

Tomorrow will be a little different, I think …

Shows how we’re all different. I’m not a big fan of Who Dares but The Cure is one of my favourites. Diff’rent pedal strokes, same destination.

Absolutely it would be amazing like Norway and Cobbler.
I’m looking forward for more stages like those.

After doing Norway at 100% yesterday, went back to doing what I’m told today by the just-get-me-through-it option with slightly reduced FTP on Who Dares and FTP and MAP on The Cure. Still lots of SUF Holy Water on the mat and a slight burn in the hamstrings as I write, about 90 minutes after completing the stage. Should be in good shape to put it all on the line for the final stage tomorrow.

As others have noted, using my Kickr with ANT+ there is occasionally a 4-5 second delay before a steep power target change, up or down, sets in. Probably averages out in the end.

I ended up taking a rest day yesterday and felt so lethargic before getting on bike today for the stage 6.

Loved reading some of the comments in this thread though. It really gives a sense of the constant ToS activity around the globe this week so spurred me into action again! Legs managed to turn the pedals after all!

Just finished both. Was wondering if I had done TheCure before. Turns out no… You’d definitely remember that one! Also will definitely remember the ‘red hot poker in leg’ feeling for each 20second sprint. Who knew 20seconds was so long and 10seconds so short?

The 20/10s in The Cure were mentally tough at times, but never felt physically impossible.

Who Dares was well put together indeed. Love the science notes, the recovery-at-threshold, and the push to go hard on the sprints. During the second set I realized ERG was holding me back on those, so I swapped to level for the last set and pushed substantially beyond the targets for the first and last sprint.

Dare I say it, Norway ruined the rest of the training on the Sufferfest App. I liked it so much and was so excited about it that today I went quiet on autopilot without too much mood for the stage; albeit it might be also due to cumulated fatigue.

I am grateful for the work the Sufferfest team put in Norway and looking forward to similar training. One more day to finish up the tour on Nuclear and looking forward to the recovery week!

I felt good going in to stage 6 but having finished (still going nuclear) my legs and body feel totally wasted.
Tomorrow will be hard but if the ToS was easy it wouldn’t be worth it.
I can be glad we are not finishing with the Kitchen sink from the 2018 tour, that is one work out I am unlikely to ever repeat.
Well done to everyone who has made it this far.

Someone please flog me. Stage 6 has crashed me out of the tour. I was nursing a bad calf and took a whole week off prior to the tour. While its been a little bothersome, it went in a big way during the 2nd set of who dares, which i thought was pretty easy. I will finish up the tour stages after a period in Couchlandria. Kudos to you finishers!

Who Dares is one the earliest SUF workouts I did from my first training plan. Still just as enjoyable and challenging.

The Cure is definitely a lot more challenging on tired legs! Not physically impossible, but definitely a big mental workout.

Love the interval with Vanderpoel at the front. His cadence and body position just makes him look so strong and powerful (which he certainly is!). Felt like I was riding along with a freight train. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Wearing my Team Parkinson shirt today to honor Team DPF and my dad. We choose to suffer to help those that have no choice.

One more stage, tomorrow. Will give it my all.

Best tour stage! No more boring rush hour traffic riding in Norway. Who dares, classic structured Sufferfest, I’m suffering, I can see the leader women suffering, everyone is suffering It’s the best thing in the world.

My youngest minion joined to ride The Cure. We had so much fun guessing what kind of donut will be next.

After the ride, she made theme poster for our workout

I really liked Who Dares, but then I remembered that I also had to do The Cure. Today is the day that I rue the fact that I live in a three-story house.

STAGE 6: GIRL POWER AND DONUTS!!!

Was really pleased with Who Dares - 3rd time riding it, and improving every time. Those women are beasts! And The Cure is just funny, while being quite the little thrasher. I feel like the Minions were just clowning around when they came up with that one.

Think I’ve handled fuel and recoveries pretty well this week - I feel better than expected going into the last stage. That said, had to shovel snow after the stage this morning to get to work, so the legs are NOT happy this afternoon!

(not going to lie, I still want a donut.)

Excellent challenge this stage…I am motivated!
1-800-SUFVANS - Callling today and setting up my move to Sufferlandia…

I am using SUFZILLOW and trying to locate a place on a road where the wind is always blowing against you regardless of the direction you ride. Spoke briefly with GvA and while he says my performance in ToS will not earn a place on the team, he will speak to the Mayor of Agonia and see about a position mopping up Holy Lactic Acid Water from the streets. Doesn’t pay well but the perks are nice.

Possibly my fave stage so far, maybe helped because I know I’m near the finish line. First time doing both workouts, really liked them both. Will go back and do Who Dares on 100% in a couple of weeks, the low cadence sections felt pretty much like recovery on focused option. Mind you, I think my new trainer really struggles getting up to high power in the sprints so I’m probably saving energy there. Will get on testing out level mode soon, but not something to do mid-ToS tbh.

The Cure was really good too, hard but doable. Though I’ve never wanted a donut more than I did during the workout I’m afraid! Do I need to go back and do it again to cure myself?!?

Yes, and for extra points, have actual donuts on hand that you could reach during those recovery sections.

Ok, understood! I’ll find some minions to be on hand for flogging purposes too

Alrighty then. Stage 6 Complete! Love Who Dares and highlighting women cyclists. My legs, on the other hand, were semi-AWOL until somewhere in the second round. Once they woke up, felt good until I remembered the Cure was also on the menu today. I was pleasantly surprised that Cure was NOT Half is Easy - 21 tabatas are definitely less than 40,

But I also devolved into demented ramblings in the self talk.
“Ooooh. This is not as bad as the Nasty Half is Easy. I likes it. I loves it!!” Followed by embarrassing out loud giggling and laughing.
“Enough with %^%# donuts. Stop the donuts. #%^% the DONUTS!!!” More weird giggles
“What’s with the cool jazz donut music. Stop the #%^% donut music!! JUST S T O P!!!”

I’m better now. See y’all tomorrow.
