V5 with high resistance

Hey - Had my v5 for c. 1 year and for the most part, ive had no issues. In the past week or so, it has become very difficult to ride where the resistance increases significantly after a couple revolutions. The issue only happens when the device is turned on, im able to spin freely when there is no power.

If the device is turned on, im only able to spin if i sent the target power to 0. But when doing this, the wahoo app incorrectly assumes im casaually cycling at 1600w.

The issue seems to have happened since updating the firmware to 4.5.74.

I dunno if you know this or not, but this is a community forum, wahoo rarely if ever weighs in here. Also, fwiw, from Feb 23-Mar 1 most of the folks who would otherwise jump in to help troubleshoot are riding the annual Tour (7 days of rides to fundraise for the Davis Phinney Foundation).

If youre able to get your kickr issues sorted, feel free to join in the “fun”:

Hi there - did this ever get resolved? I’m having exactly the same issue with my v5…. Either no power being transmitted , or showing the target power but with far far more resistance than displaying….

Have you contacted support?

Thanks Glen - yes, I’ve sent a request without reply so far… Was hoping for an easy fix
