VPN recommendation

Totally unrelated to cycling but hoping for some suggestions. I have been using Express VPN for a while now but their reliability is suspect. I was curious if the Folks out there in Wahoo world have a suggestion for a reliable VPN that won’t slow down my system.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I m using NordVPN since a few months. Seems to work ok, barely notice it so guess thats a good sign
However its the first I use so have not much to compare with.

Cheers

I’m happy with Windscribe. They have a generous free tier so easy to try before you commit. Also you can build your own (cheap) package on a month by month basis if you don’t want to sign up for a year.

@TheBlackKite I have been looking at NordVPN. They seem pretty popular. @JohnK I have not heard of Windscribe, I will check them out.

Appreciate the suggestions.

Check out Mullvad VPN - Mullvad VPN - Privacy is a universal right

I use NordVPN. It works well plus there’s a discount code with the cycling podcast. No complaints with it so far. I’ve used private internet access before but I prefer the NordVPN interface

Can you elaborate on the discount. Thanks,

Yeah. NordVPN advertises as a sponsor of the cycling podcast. They have a link and code in some of their episode show notes. A quick Google search should pull it up. I don’t remember how much of a discount it was. It’s something like “tcp”

I should add the NordVPN was hacked a while ago but I don’t know much about that

Hi Critmark. I used a lot of VPNs before, I needed it for work as well as for life (for netflix, for example), in the end I chose https://veepn.com/. It took me a long time to choose a good VPN for me, read a lot of forums and discussions. I decided to stay with this one. Well, I use it myself and recommend it to my friends and I will recommend it to you. Best to you

Another vote for NordVPN.

I’ve used VPNs before, NordVPN but I ran into issues like slow connection speeds and occasional blocks from certain websites. These problems led me to explore other options. Based on my experience, I now lean more towards using a proxy, particularly a residential proxy, because it offers a more stable and reliable connection without the drawbacks I faced with VPNs.

Proxies, especially residential ones, seem to be less likely to be blocked by websites and provide a more seamless internet experience. If you’re looking for an alternative to traditional VPNs, considering a residential proxy might be worthwhile. They can offer the anonymity and access you need, with fewer interruptions.

I use a cheapo vps and tunnel throught it via putty.

Check out AirVPN. I’ve been using it for about 3 years now and very happy with it.

I don’t remember where I saw it exactly, but at the time, it was one of the few who fulfilled a lot of security concerns (no logs, tracking etc.), which a lot of the other providers don’t really do. I believe it’s also quite cheaper than the popular alternatives.
