Wahoo Kickr bike v1 vs. KICKR v5

Hi. Not quite the right thread but all thoughts welcome. Any wisdom and knowledge on a kickr v5 vs a wahoo kickr bike v1? Which would you recommend if you could have either. I have KICKR v5 and friend moving offered v1 bike for free if I can move it ASAP.

Which is better? Any and all thoughts on what am I giving up or gaining?

Thanks.

I just changed over to a V2 bike from a V5 kickr. For the most part I like it but in hindsight, I think I would have gone with the Move. Being that you are getting it for free I would take it. The three things I miss about the V5 are:

• The slight movement of the axs feet. I find my rear end not liking the bike as much, even after changing the saddle. And unfortunately, there is no tried and true cheap method to add movement to the bike, rockers are really the only option.

• The lack of mobility to move the trainer around, my bike is in the guest room so I have to move it occasionally.

• I didn’t mind easy erg on the V5 but easy erg on the bike overreacts in my opinion. I’ve been in plenty of sprints where my cadence ever so slightly falls or I fail to put the power on the second the sprint starts and the easy erg kicks in. This is a pain during 10 second or less sprints where half or more of the sprint is then wasted.

That being said there are many positives. If they were the same cost and I was buying new trainer I would go for the bike. If I was getting the bike for free, I would snatch it up.

My own trainer to bike journey was Core to Shift and I would never go back. The bike being free makes this a no-brainer.
