Whirring flywheel noise on V2

I just got my V2 Smart Bike. I have a mixed bag of feelings about it. It has great riding and looks, but it made lots of creaking noises from the start. The issue was solved with generous dabbings of Teflon-based grease at all accessible metal-to-metal contact areas.
What still annoys me tremendously is a whirring flywheel noise at certain rpm ranges.
All works fine and reasonably quiet, but then at around 62-66 rpm (no big deal, not my usual rmp) it starts to whine noticeably louder. But when I reach the range from 103-110 rpm, it sounds a bit like a single jet areoplane taking of. At rpms over 110 it is “quiet” again.
Does anybody have any ideas what to do about it other than wearing noice-cancelling earphones at full blast?

So you have a low-level (common?) “whirring” noise most of the time, but in a couple of specific ranges it gets really loud? “Jet engine” vs. metal-on-metal, screeching sound?

I’ve always wondered about the Kickr Bike - the way that flywheel just hangs out there, off the back. On the regular Kickr, it’s basically on the floor, so - again - wondered how that plays out different on the bike.

Obviously the bike stands on its legs (tripod, right?) What do you have your bike sitting on? Just wondering if you’re getting some weird harmonic or something from a vibration in certain ranges.

Also have you checked the housing for snugness? I say “snug” because I had some noise from my v6 and found that the housing was TOO tightly screwed together, causing some rub and noise from the flywheel.

I’ll also save Sir @Glen.Coutts the trouble of asking/suggesting if you’ve contacted the Minions at customer support?

Hiya Captain America,

Thanks for the quick response!

The bike is sitting on the original Kickr mat. I went through the full maintenance workbook and torqued all bolts according to the manual. The noise seems to be a fairly common issue, as I discovered through some online research. However, I didn’t find any posts that provided a solution to the problem.

I haven’t reached out to the help desk yet, as my previous experiences have shown that I usually receive a generic response. Instead, I thought I would check directly with this great forum here.

Thanks!
