A short, highly biased review of the competition

Indeed, it’s been that way for a few years now

It’s a big minority though. I can’t be done with all the ‘noise’, riders, squirrels etc etc :joy::+1:

XERT goes a few steps further than TR. For example mid workout wattage increases in their SMART workouts if it detects you’re going well. I just love the way it adjusts your plan each day as opposed to fixed plans where you have to manually move workouts if things change. I assume TR is similar. However, XERT is a very complicated app that after a year I’m still trying to fully understand.

So it can suck in your outdoor workouts from Wahoo or Strava and then recommend something for today based on what you’ve been doing, without having to run a plan?

Hi, yes that’s exactly what it does based on what your goals are (you preset that) for example maintain fitness or slow improvement. Xert is about 100 USD per year and a good low cost add on to another platform like Zwift etc. you can send XERT recommended workouts to Zwift.

Xert is also compatible with the 4DP approach as it treats each energy system separately.

Having tried Zwift and Rouvy (and -gag- Peloton), currently prefer SYSTM. I’ve only been a member for about 1.3 years so, with respect to the people suffering with Sufferfest, I don’t really miss what I never knew. I’m happy with my experience so far compared to what else seems to be out there.

I’ve been seeing a lot recently about ROUVY with it being on a lot of socials and you tube channels. Also noted an increase in uptake by my fellow club riders. I may take another look (3 or 4 years since I tried it) as I know it integrates with XERT. Being able to do an XERT workout on a famous climb or other road would be ok although I’m not one that needs the distraction of such things and I actually quite looking at a graphs and data as it keeps me focused. Maybe ROUVY for easier workouts.

It is, unlike other platforms which think that because you’ve got a decent 20 minute power then everything is decent including your sprint :joy:

Hah….I have the opposite issue with most in that they think that because I have (or had…) a decent 3-8 min climbing power (non-repeatable and only standing…) my FTP should be good!
