After firmware update Bolt v1 acquires GPS extremely slowly

I have updated my Bolt v1 to get the GPS date fix. However, now with the new firmware, it takes a really long time until it acquires a GPS signal, several minutes as opposed to <= 30 seconds.

Does anyone experience similar problems? Or am I alone in this?

You are not alone, for me it’s the same. Since the update it takes significantly longer until the GPS signal is acquired, it’s now definitely in the minutes range while it was more like seconds before.

Same for me. I also started a thread on this, but no responses. It would be nice for the Wahoo support to acknowledge that they have seen the problem and are aware of the issue and working on it.

Sorry, I did not notice your thread, otherwise I would have responded to that. Every time I start a ride I am missing a few hundred meters to a kilometer just because it takes >1 minute to acquire a GPS signal.

As far as I understand one of the reasons might be that the GPS unit can seek for the correct satellites, which — depending on date and time of day — should be the ones in range. This saves a lot of time compared to a search for satellites without any extra knowledge. Perhaps this is what has been broken?

This is definitely an issue for me - took over 15 minutes to find GPS today. Ridiculous.

I’ve observed the same thing - GPS is really slow to acquire ever since the bogus date fix.
How do we get Wahoo’s attention to this?

Message support via the website. They don’t check these forums.
