So, I’ve been away from any cycling for 7 years.
I bought a Wahoo Element bike computer and remember you could get the Kickr at the time…
I bought one the other day from ebay-a Kickr Snap and have been getting into using it.
I have a goal of doing over 4000 Miles in 130 days, and thinking of using the snap and the Systm to achieve it. Anybody got any tips… Is it an accurate distance measuring combo?!
Apparently since I’ve left the scene, other things such as a Peloton have become quite popular, but they seem a bit fancy.
Properly configured, a Kickr Snap and SYSTM is very good at approximating speed and distance, yes.
30 miles a day for a third of a year straight, if you’ve not been cycling much recently, is quite the challenge, so good luck!
I would definitely recommend trying to get in plenty of that outdoors though, it might get more than a little repetitive inside.
As for Peloton, in my opinion it is the epitome of “all the gear, no idea”. A decent enough system if you really need a coach on screen telling you what to do, but the bikes are nowhere near their value in terms of being an actual bike and the training platform is, let’s call it “casual”.
Second @Jon 's comments. My wife offered to get me a Peloton during COVID, and I went with the Snap instead, because you end up with a real bicycle as a bonus.
