Calling All Sufferlandrians - National Sufferlandrian Day 2025!

@wmalexmann @emacdoug Got that number from the Strava analysis, 58.8% in Heartrate zone 2, 32.6% in HR Zone 3. The rest Zone 1 and 4. Did not get into Zone 5 at all, which is strange. Usually I hit zone 4 and 5 pretty fast and usually it takes time for the HR to go down again.
Just recently started to take a closer look at HR figures. Strangely the Wahoo Apps don‘t show the percentage distribution of heart rate zones per activity, do they?

Have to check the threads. Wasn‘t there some conversation going on the other week?
Goodnight from Kiel

Nothing another ride of Kitchen Sink would not solve.

Hi Rupert,

Could not do a one off 3 hour kitchen sink but managed to finish of the the October challenge over the weekend logging over 3 hours. Does that qualify me for the 2025 sufferfest day badge too ?

Hi Everyone, congrats to you all on some impressive Suffering this weekend. I just got a note from GVA to say he is overwhelmed with misery this today due to all your hard work.

It wouldn’t be a real SUF day without some technical glitches, The badge issue should now been resolved and is cross referencing activities over the weekend and should be visible to you by the end of the day if you completed your 3 hours of Suffering.

Apparently, I was wrong. I still had some training capacity left after KS:

(The first STL peak is AWWUCI: Road, 2nd Full Frontal, 3rd a 200k/2600climbing Audax ride, 4th Blender and the last KS)

Wouldn’t be a true SUF event without some type of minion mischief, eh?

Wow I’m impressed!

I’m sitting around-100 training capacity.

Looks like I have some fitness gains to work on before I can seriously think of booking my dream cycling vacation :joy:

You mean Kitchen Sink wasn’t your dream vacation?!?

That’s three-time World Champion, Oscar Freire, on the deck right there. You can see him picking himself up off the ground and little by little rejoining the front group. This particular day wasn’t one of his wins.

My badge now shows!

Blame it on the minions!

Lucky B. No trace that the badge ever existed here…

I had to scroll way down to find it. It’s somewhere in the middle of all the badges rather than the top.

Looks like mine is in the middle of nowhere rather than somewhere :man_shrugging:

Yep. It’s neather greyed out, nor in full color mode. Probably fell down into some lava pit.

Ah, maybe that is what turned into the lava snow that came down in the ISLAGIATT-part of KS :light_bulb:

Hi again. Here’s my hr from Strava. I made a custom set of hr zones to sort of match Sufferfest zones, but haven’t changed my threshold and zone 4 hr in a long time, so I probably spent more time in zones 4 & 5. Also, my riding was disrupted in August and September, so my recovery between sets is weak and maybe my ftp is lower. I also am appending a post about zone 2 training that I found interesting.

Interresting. Thanks for sharing. But it starts to make sense to me.
I did the 4DP test beginning of September (all numbers had decreased, since I broke my shoulder in April) but have done serious training following the above mentioned test. So maybe the target numbers in yesterdays KitchenSink made it a bit easier for me. Plus: since I was worried not to make it to the end, I started at 90% intensity. Dialed it up to 100 % after 30 or 40 min.
