Can an Elmnt Bolt V1 edit Auto Pause speed? I’ve seen some mention in these forums that that is the case.
I have a Bolt V2 and Auto Pause stops and starts with any motion. I SOLD MY V1 AFTER I “UPGRADED” TO A V2. Wish I still had it so I could verify on my own. I will buy a used Bolt V1 off eBay if I can edit Auto Pause speed in it
I like Wahoo cycle computers, but am considering buying a Garmin or Karoo (again) to get this important feature.
On the Bolt V1, you could indeed adjust the Auto Pause speed threshold in the settings. That meant you could tell it not to pause until you dropped below, say, 3 mph / 5 km/h, which was useful if you didn’t want the ride timer cutting in and out during slow climbs or rolling through traffic.
On the Bolt V2, Wahoo unfortunately simplified things — Auto Pause is now tied to “any motion detected,” and there’s no longer a user-editable speed threshold. A lot of people in the Wahoo community have mentioned missing this option, since it makes the pause/resume more “jumpy” in certain scenarios.
So yes, if this feature is a must-have for you, the V1 does support customizable Auto Pause speed, while the V2 doesn’t. If you don’t mind buying a used device, a Bolt V1 could be a good option, or as you say, Garmin and Karoo still let you tweak that setting.
