Defender is gone

I don’t think you can do that in Systm at this time. You’d need to use a 3rd party tool like intervals.icu or golden cheetah.

Thanks for replying. Will have to trawl my Strava or Garmin i suppose to see if i got better (or more likely worse)… at least on a basic level.

Intervals and golden cheetah are free to use. Intervals is probably more user friendly, imo. And, while free, you could donate a few $ their way if you find yourself using it a fair amount or see value in it for yourself.

I “donate” $12 PER QUARTER to intervals.icu. Best bang-for-your-buck there is.

I’ve ridden and posted my review of the “remastered” Defender, now called “Phil Wins the Tour”, in the main Sufferfest remaster: request for input thread.

WTF! The high kadens (100 rpm) in the new session is moved to from the 3. to the 4. interval. That «little thing» destroy the geniality of the old Defender

  1. Intervall: Hard, but ok
  2. Intervall: Hard, but I can do it
  3. Can I finish at 100 rpm?
  4. Close to #3 with nearly same heart rate. But I did 1 and 2, so I can do this one..

Defender was to me a perfect training session, also for the moral. The point for ending my yearly sub for wahoo SYSTM is getting closer…

I saved the old copy of Defender, but since they eliminated it from the library, that copy is gone. I wonder how I could then free up the space on the disk, since it is no longer there to remove, but is probably still taking up space on my disk.

I enjoyed the new video/workout by Phil and Mike. It felt new and fresh. Without comparing it to defender I like Phil wins the tour as a workout in its own right. I agree it’s sad that defender has gone but I do think credit is due to creating a good new video. Thanks wahoo.

As someone relatively new, I’m beginning to wonder at what point does Knighthood become impossible with all the SF workouts dropping like flies…

[Not a disguised criticism - just a genuine query because I’m not yet ready to do the trials…]

You still have plenty of options, thank you to Dame Ellisa for updating this last week (technically over the weekend) https://support.wahoofitness.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406074947090-How-to-become-a-Knight-of-Sufferlandria I suggest choosing the longest workouts as they have the lowest power targets :angry_face_with_horns:

Maybe the last update didn’t fully take? Defender is still showing on the list of eligible vids :man_shrugging:

Also, The Rookie has been taken off the list of eligible vids, which must be a mistake (it’s in some of the training plans as well as the Quests plans) and Rollercoaster has not been added to the list (but appears on some of the Quests plans).

Ope, good catch, i just knew she had been in there, we’ll dig in and update appropriately. Thank you.

Agreed. Given the workouts are not only being Un-mastered, but full on removed–I’m debating hard whether to bother with a knighthood attempt. And given that was my next training target, requiring doing Suf videos consistently in training-; I do not consider On Location workouts engaging enough to be worth repeating…I’m somewhat at a loss for my next goal. Technically I could just run the workouts in Zwift without the video, but that’s a waste and completely bypasses any Suff culture (what’s left).

As is, my membership has lapsed this morning, and I don’t believe Wahoo is getting access to the new card for renewal. I can–barely–accept the unmasterings, helped by having backups of the workout files, but completely removing the Sufferfest workouts is the final straw.

Guess it’s back to doing my own workouts or Garmin’s Suggested workout “plan” via Zwift.

We have lost these classic Sufferfest videos from the platform since July 2025. It’s heartbreaking.

@Brann_Mac_Finnchad I completely understand your feelings on this.

I’ve been doing a KOS every year since 2020. I missed 2024 because of COVID. I’m working to see if - despite long covid - I can at least be in shape to attempt one before the end of this year, tho it’s becoming increasingly difficult to choose a playlist. But wonder whether the effort is worth it.

But, being that I’m going down with the ship and there seems to be enough to make a full playlist… Here is the list of the remaining 13 KOS-eligible workouts from Rupert’s list of workouts that haven’t been and don’t plan to be remastered by Wahoo (at this time - according to Rupert’s list). This eliminates videos that have had at least a portion remastered (like The Model):

  1. 14 Vise Grips
  2. Blender
  3. Fight Club
  4. Hell Hath No Fury
  5. Nine Hammers
  6. Revolver
  7. Team Scream
  8. The Bat
  9. TBTITW
  10. The Chores
  11. The Omnium
  12. The Rookie
  13. The Shovel

Maybe this will help you decide.

Edit: *Violator is not on this list because even tho it hasn’t yet been remastered, it’s next on the list to be.

Thank you, Sir, it does to some degree. 6 of my list I made last winter are on that shortlist. (With the remaining being Do As You’re Told, Downward Spiral, Who Dares, and The Model.)

I still will have to debate whether I want to give the Company money while I train for it. The other goal option which has been in my head for a while–enter and finish Zwift races (with finishes in under 1 hour) to the best of your ability, on the hour, for X hrs. Should be pretty similar training requirements actually.

Also, no one sane would include it. shudder

Just like @Glen.Coutts said. If you are attempting a KOS then you’re not sane. :stuck_out_tongue:

I didn’t include it in my first quest, but I did include it in my second. Which I completed all on my small chainring because my big ring made my chain drop. (I replaced them a couple months layer)

I had it planned as #13 on my fifth quest, but I cut it short to just 11.

I had it planned as #10 on my quest I never attempted last year.

Looks like my options are limited for upcoming plans for a sixth.

Of course, if you want to do 10 videos and don’t care about sticking to all the rules or making it official you could always do this:

  1. Nine Hammers
  2. Nine Hammers
  3. Nine Hammers
  4. Nine Hammers
  5. Nine Hammers
  6. Nine Hammers
  7. Nine Hammers
  8. Nine Hammers
  9. Nine Hammers
  10. Revolver

Edit: …which gives me some ideas for future shenannigans…
