NEW ON LOCATION: Costa Blanca

Discover Costa Blanca and become a Better Athlete with Wahoo Training.

Ride through the stunning climbs of Spain’s Costa Blanca in this immersive four-part On Location SYSTM series with Sir @michael.cotty — designed to unlock your full potential using the science of 4DP (Four-Dimensional Power). Each workout targets a specific energy system, helping you train smarter, ride stronger, and become a more complete athlete with Wahoo Training.

  • Coll de Rates – Build your Maximal Aerobic Power (MAP) with ramped VO₂ intervals that improve pacing, control, and finishing strength.

  • Cumbre del Sol – Push your Anaerobic Capacity and Threshold with explosive one-minute efforts and a fatigued FTP block.

  • Port de Tudons – Boost both MAP and FTP with over-under intervals that increase power and fatigue resistance.

  • Port de la Vall d’Ebo – Activate recovery with low-intensity riding and high-cadence drills to support neuromuscular health and readiness.

From peak efforts to purposeful recovery, each ride blends cinematic landscapes with performance-focused coaching — helping you become a better athlete, one climb at a time. Train with purpose. Ride with power. Only with Wahoo.

Quite like this. An alternative video for some classic workouts. Old SUF videos left alone so those that like them are happy, and these for those who aren’t so keen on the Sufferfest or just fancy a change. Hopefully everybody happy.

Thanks for this on location, which definitely looks the hardest yet! Mike Cotty is the main reason I have carried on with Systm over the last few years. He just has the right mix of commentery. This looks like another challenge to try and conquer!

Again quality workouts with Mike. They are always fun and on point. He always catches me when my back is not straight or my shoulders hunched. Also, they are the only workouts I’ve seen so far that provide low cadence/high wattage training that really hurt my legs. Again: good fun!

Suffer, suffer, suffer! And want it!

Butter, Trick, and There Is No Try are kaput, gone from the library. Recharger is the only one still in the library.

Less happy now. They were there yesterday.

This was my concern when I saw the original post. I hope the plan isn’t to redo SUF workouts with other content, but that is what happened here. I do OL workouts but there are many times when I want the SUF workouts, which have the music, video and workout all linked together. I’m mostly riding outside now, but this is going to be an issue when the weather gets bad.

@Rupert @mgboehmer is this right or just a temporary glitch?

Butter is one of my favorites. Booooooooo. Please, please say this is temporary.

As much as I love the suf jokes and storylines, I rely even more on having music matched to intervals and effort. Even though I love Sir Stands-a-Lot, I tend to mute all videos with dialogue after one watch then replace their sound with music (especially ProRides!) Music is essential during hard efforts!

Precisely why I’m fine with Wahoo adding OL and PR routines more often than Sufferfests! Because I’m less likely to enjoy the first two repeatedly as I am to enjoy repeating SUF rides!

Mike Cotty is fine, but please don’t use him to replace the Sufferfest. E.g. I rely on the original Recharger, which comes across much more energetic as the rather tranquil climb that Mike does talking about ancient roman baths.

Still wondering if Butter, The Trick and There Is No Try and possibly in the future Recharger are just being removed completely from The Sufferfest and just being implemented into On Location rides instead which after the recent remastering of other vids is just another way of angering those of us who love what The Sufferfest workouts and videos are all about

I think the silence says it all. Hello Trainerroad.

Not me, brother. For my purposes, I’d rather punch myself repeatedly in the face than pay for a vast library of
no-vids. I get the attraction though but I NEED video engagement in what I’m doing or I’ll die from TTBS :face_with_tongue:

Totally get ya but I like the AI prescribing the correct workout progression, which wahoo no vids don’t do. Plus I have a ton of cycling to watch which I don’t have time for off the trainer.
Seeing the sufferfest videos slowly die out will only make me sad.

I share the sadness, Sir. #morethanmost

And I get your use case as well. I’m more self directed though and there’s still some of my favourite, as yet unsullied, SUF vids in the catalogue.

It’s really annoying as Systm was such good value with the yoga etc but wahoo seem intent on self destruction with regards to the cycling element of the app.

What’s irritating this time is that the post implied the videos would sit alongside the Sufferfest originals and even referred to them as counterparts. In no way did it suggest this OL videos were replacements. I’m still hoping it’s a glitch that isn’t getting fixed as it’s the weekend. If that’s not the case then it feels like this was done in a really underhand manner.
