Elemnt Ace Recovered ride issues

Done my 2nd Ultra with my elemnt Ace and halfway on both 1000km+ rides i powered off my device when sleeping and re-powered on after sleeping and both times i experience the following:

  1. elevation total incorrect - for some reason the total elevation is way more then the actual route. 1st ultra it recorded over 18000m but it was actually just over 15500. 2nd one now last week it recorded 20k and it was only 18000m
  2. the fit file struggles to upload from unit and its not possible to get the file from the unit after last update (which i dont understand why?) as this would be the easiest to upload to platforms. no mail is received once it uploaded and it seems to do a partial upload causing issues with linked platforms.

the unit is stable, easy to use and very reliable but these 2 issues seems to make me worry when it gets to ultra races.

i also don’t like the lowest setting on backlight brigtness and dont like the darkmode. normal mode is just to bright still and feel it drains the power more than it should. why cant the dimm settings be more defined than the 4 options available ?

Well congrats!

I only have an answer on the fit file question. Because they can contain HR data, apparently they qualify as health data per some EU regulation and so Wahoo had to disable the access where you can get them off the device with a computer.

I also hate it and wish they’d do something about it.

o wow never tought of it that way but cant we then as the end user give consent and accept the risk to access files and data.

Yeah they need to build in a way for us to give consent. Really annoying.

Yes. You can share your fit file to yourself to DropBox in the Wahoo app. But, yes, that’s still a workaround when we should be able to access them directly on the device.

Oh yeah Dropbox auto share is a great idea for everyone.

That way you have the individual fit file if you need it, and I like that I have all of my data outside of Strava, etc.
