ELEMNT GPX Waypoints

Hi,

I have a GPX file to which I’ve added a few waypoints.
My goal is to have the waypoints shown as on-route waypoints on my ELEMNT.
However, only the first one is shown as on-track, while the other are shown as off-track.
Some other points are not shown at all.

I’ve tried various tools to create and edit the GPX files (gpx.studio, comaps/organicmaps, bikerouter.de , plain text editor), but I’ve yet to find out which are the requirements for my ELEMNT to properly show a waypoint () as on-route waypoint on my cuesheet.

It seems as if this is calculated directly by the ELEMNT and not by the wahoo app.

Can some developer enlighten me/us on how this works, so I can adjust my workflow?

As an example, i recently went on a ultracycling trip and was given the GPX file by the organiser. On my train to the start I could load the file in my Comaps app, add various points of interest (hotels, water sources, shops) and export the file again as GPX.
unfortunately, only the first two waypoints were shown as on-track, so I always had to scroll through my off-track waypoints in order to find the ones that I’m closest to.
This was pretty annoying. I’d rather have the waypoint-notification pop up once I’m passing some point of interest.

Thanks,
Horst

I’ve run into this same issue before. From what I’ve gathered, the ELEMNT is very sensitive to the distance between the waypoint coordinates and the actual track line. If they aren’t perfectly snapped to the path, the device treats them as separate POIs rather than cue sheet entries. You might want to try exporting as a .fit or .tcx file instead of .gpx, as those formats often handle embedded course points much more reliably for Wahoo devices.
