Favorite Lyric from Soundtrack

On Saturday as I was finishing up The Shovel, I was thinking about how I was already forgetting the misery of the past hour and how fortunate that was or I’d probably never do it again. A few seconds later (25 seconds before the end of the video) the I heard the lyric “the memories are fading away.” I never listen to lyrics and rarely understand them when I try—even songs I’ve heard dozens of times. But this one struck me as perfect for my moment.

Do you have a favorite workout lyric?

I don’t remember lyrics but I definitely get songs stuck in my head and end up humming them later in the day or even a few days later. I’ve been doing Cobbler every Saturday for the past few weeks and I could probably hum the entire video to you right now!

Sitting is dumb. Dancing is more fun…

I have now managed to get that line stuck in my entire family’s head by playing it in the car for them :smiling_imp:

I actually have sung that one during the video!

As I’m not a fan of dancing, I say dancing is dumb, sitting is more fun!

Right, Yes, Definitely, Yes
Right, Yes, Definitely, Yes
Right, Yes, Definitely, Yes
And move it right and move it left

Here she comes
Here she comes

Showing my age and old school mentality…

This is what I want, this is me, this is where I want to be.
I will beat my ass today to kick yours tomorrow.
Gotta suffer. Suffer, suffer, suffer

Close your eyes with me, start imagining
A world full of love
We can change the stars with our hands and hearts

Oh the world is changing
And all I am saying
Is you gotta believe
I’m a drop of water
but you know together
we’re the ocean deep

Yeah, same! My husband walked down to my cave to find me belting it out, hands in the air, dancing while pedaling along, AirPods in so no backing track to explain what was happening. My fave part is that he assumed the dancing was actually part of the workout :joy:

Well if we’re going old school I guess it has to be:

You abandoned me, left me broken and in pain
I don’t want to see your face tomorrow or any other day

Shame it no longer appears anywhere.

Gonna say that I don’t consider that one old school. And personally I never understood why that song was considered lyrically suitable for use in Sufferlandria [ducks for cover :duck: :bomb: ]

And when cycling outside, I might sing Rain is Falling down my head

The cool down track of Nine Hammers.

A Fine Line by Geoff Abraham.

“It’s a fine line between heaven and hell”. Sums up Nine Hammers perfectly.

I viewed the lyrics as the race speaking to a rider who took a DNF, and that made some sense to me, Sir James.

The Hurt by Steffaloo
"The hurt is supposed to hurt
It’s okay if I’m not okay
Sometimes there are no words…
The hurt is supposed to hurt"
