What is your Recovery Beverage for the TOS 2026?

Chocolate milk and protein blend, with maltodextrin.

Tea (gong fu style)

Probably beer since I have a couple bottle carbing right now, but not until after the tour. Potentially a couple weeks after since I have plans which require maximizing recovery.

I found out this morning I am out of beer! So I went through a club soda, plain water, juice, and coffee only because that’s what was in the room.

At this rate, perhaps I will hit all the polling options, since that was 4 in one stage…hmm…then, I have a beautiful bottle of red wine I purchased solely because of the bicycle on the label. I think I can add a personal challenge to myself to try all of the drinks on the list during the tour. Then I pick my favourite at the end. :nerd_face:

For the individual stages, usually a super food protein shake, coffee, and water

After The Tour there will be beer, soda, and more coffee.

My usual post ride recovery is chocolate milk.

Chocolate ice cream really but it’s pretty much the same thing.

if you’ve not seen the Ninja Creami it’s possibly the best kitchen gadget ever created - home made healthy ice cream with very little effort.

Thank you for that. It is getting more and more difficult to find real ice cream at our grocery store locally, so my extended family has been chatting about making our own instead. Problem is knowing which appliance is worth getting. Now that’s solved!

Root canal…did you at least avoid novacaine?

Not entirely sure what it was but to be fair I probably would have been up for whatever was on offer

I did a marathon (the full 26.2mi/42k) on the rower last fall where I downed a beer at the start and every 7.5km.

Do not recommend.

During stages - holy water , for recovery chocolate milk with a scoop of protein powder then if achieved it’ll be a crisp Oyster Bay Sauv.Blanc. I say ‘if’ simply because I’m giving it a go 8 months post bi-lateral hip replacements and still building strength and fitness :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

I generally use protein powder every day so I did not count that as part of my recovery drink.

Fair point. Post Tour ride recovery drinks are different.
