Fitness Anonlomy

I have noticed recently when comparing workout data with the same workout done a while ago or even a year ago that my average HR and max HR for the same ride having the same other data is approx 8 -10 beats higher across the board. I have also noticed my resting HR has generally increased by about the same amount even though my HRV readings are pretty much as normal. I have trained all year as normal with most rides indoors and nothing much has changed really so I would have thought being presumably fitter that similar workouts using the same 4DP profile would now be resulting in a bit less stress on my system and not apparently more which my stats seem to indicate. 8-10 beats more may not seem much but with a max HR of only 148 and a resting HR at the moment of around 50 my HRR is not that much. I am 70 now and generally race TT’s with my local club. Any ideas please? Thanks

@ozmadman Heart rate can jump around based on ambient temperature, hydration at the time of workout, taking or not taking caffeine, other external stresses, etc. but as @IsiSchneider_KoS if you are worried about it speak to a physician.

Over training. Your RHR should be lower as you improve fitness. It will go higher if you are over working.
