I always miss the chat after the Tour ends. Anyone want to join me in a group starting a plan 3-10-25? We could share the joy.
I’m planning to use this week for the March challenge and Half Monty then start a General Fitness High Volume plan on March 10th. I’m on the fence about whether to choose 2:1 or a 3:1 work/rest ratio.
@Cheryl.Vasan , I’m planning a FF this week and a new plan starting 3/10. I’vw been on the fence between general fitness and mountain fondo. Though perhaps it won’t matter much, since as the weather improves here in Minnesota I tend to take the plan as a suggestion more than a rule and ride outside when possible. We’ll see what kind of weather this spring has in store.
It might be fun to have a buddy. I often find that, as the season changes and it’s time to transition outdoors, my volume paradoxically drops. Having to decide between indoors and out, finding all my dusty outdoor kit, etc. sometimes makes enough friction that I wind up not riding at all. This might be the accountability I need.
IIRC, the overall volume and intensity are similar between the two work/rest ratios on the same plan. With 2:1, there’s a bit less contrast. I’m open to either.
I’m doing the March challenge this week while squeezing in the new Ground up season 4 Pt 1 and 2. I will do half monty on Sunday.
For Monday 3/10, I was planing to start the all purpose 12 week plan medium volume 2+1 along with yoga Intermediate.
I used to do 3+1, though the forum chats or podcasts suggested that I am old enough that I should do 2+1.
I do like mountain fondo plans, though. So I could go with either that or general all purpose. I don’t think I have time for the high volume, with my travel schedule the next four months. Of course, I know @Cheryl.Vasan has great plans to put the high volume training to good use laster this year when she storms the castle.
Bait n switch… I couldn’t decide between the Mountain Fondo or the High Volume General Fitness, so I ended up starting the 4 week Knighthood prep. I’m trying to decide whether to join the party on the 5th or storm the castle on April 6th.
@Cheryl.Vasan Sporadic at best. It seems my only constant is my daily yoga every morning. I just can’t seem to be able to stick to a training plan with any consistency. Something always happens or comes up. For example, I had planned to tackle Fight Club after work yesterday and get one step closer to completing the March badge but, as always seems to happen, things came up and by the time I had time for FC, I really just didn’t have the energy or mindset for it. As I said, sporadic at best. When you storm the Castle…..Crush It!
