I’m debating which way to approach the following 3 months, preparing for another trip in the Pyrenees in April.
On one side, i was gonna do a “Mountain Fondo” training regiment. But now i’m wondering if i should instead go with a Threshold training?
With the busy schedule and the Gym (Strengh), i’m debating which one to go about it.
@Thisdale I used Mountain Fondo high volume for the Alps previously and it worked well. Weekends I would sometimes substitute the workouts for long rides outside with some intensity and climbing mixed in.

@JSampson Does High volume make a big difference? i presume its duration of workouts more than anything?
I focused on frequency, then volume then intensity. Frequency - complete all workouts and do them as designed. Volume - more training stress each week - small adjustments done with consistency formed long term adaptations needed for multiple sustained climbs. Intensity - mostly polarized so the intensity had the effect of increasing volume as long as I balanced it with enough rest and endurance riding.
The plan will do all that for you. I would suggest yoga too for hips and hamstrings and lots of core work.
