It sure seems to me like a disproportionate number of the latest posts have been made by brand new users that exhibit ChatGPT or other AI behaviour in terms of either or all of: writing style, response style, and content.
“Coincidentally”, I am also getting an inordinate amount of “likes” from users who have just joined (or have very recently joined) and for posts or comments in threads that are far from recent with some being several years old. Eg. I’ll check my notifications and see what the “robo liked 12 of your posts”,
Maybe The Company needs a bot of their own to sweep the forum and keep it human.
I’m really glad you raised this @Glen.Coutts and I have also had likes to old posts and seen what you described. I would hate it if when I come here I have to navigate round the bots. Do you know if the Wahoo team can do anything? Thanks for starting this thread, I’m really interested in what can be done?
I think we should start naming names. There’s at least one handle that made me think “who picks a name like that” but then thought better of saying anything b/c my handle isn’t exactly lovable either.
Thank you for pointing this out, Sir Glen, though honestly I’m not expecting Wahoo to do anything as I’m so cynical I actually wondered at one point if they or some of them might be company sponsored in order to train internal AI systems.
Sir Rupert’s on holiday right now, so it might be a bit before he gets to it. Perhaps Helga and/or others may be of some assistance, but I’ve noticed the bot-like behavior on many forums, including some that are supposed to be closed/private.
