Hi
I’ve been using SUFF for a few months now and love it.
Last night I ventured into the real world and did 1 mile interval laps of a motorcycle track (so flat and pothole free and safe!).
Legs were strong and never caused me to want to quit (I was using all the tricks from The Bat too) but by the end of my fast lap I sounded like a steam train my breathing was so hard. HR wasn’t massively elevated but breathing was shocking!
What element of training/videos do I need to do to reduce this so my breathing is as strong as my legs.
TIA
Pixie

@EvilPixie, while you wait for the coaches to weigh in, my 2 cents, as a rank amateur with 0 coaching knowledge would be to focus on MAP heavy vids (Revolver, Nine Hammers for classics and a wide range of newer No-vids ((with more to come)) as well as the breathing exercises from the Yoga vids. I find that focusing on my breathing can help pass the time during harder intervals and sometimes I will even count in my head to keep my breathing steady. Box breathing is a great exercise for that (inhale 5 seconds, hold 5 seconds, exhale 5 seconds, hold 5 seconds and repeat). You wouldn’t do box breathing during a workout but it helps you to focus your breath and your mind.
Last thing, I know you are familiar with the MTP so the exercise you do in the Focus exercise to get “in the zone” would probably help to calm your breathing too. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have such a track to train on. Best of luck!

Oh good shout on the yoga breathing never thought of that!
The track is great - was windy last night so faster one side than the other lol
I’m going to try and go most weeks to keep my hand in on outside riding.
As each fast mile took approx. 3:30 I was thinking it might be MAP.
I’m also thinking knighthood too so seeing your tag has made me jealous!

BTW my Mount Sufferlandria is a Long Course Tri in July next year (was this year!) so 112m in under 8hr
The knighthood could be a step to the volcano!
