Kickr Move gone to a dark place

I had a power brick go out on a stages sb20, in my case, the power led came on but no output, you did not mention using a voltmeter on the low voltage side. would be an easier fix if that was the problem.

CS has already scheduled a pickup date to exchange the dead unit with a refurbished one. The tricky part was to pack up the unit without the original package :package:

I don’t see why and how I should invest time in trying to diagnose it by myself without any expertise in that kind of stuff. Even if I narrowed down the cause, I still would not have a working trainer to ride on.

The dead unit has been collected yesterday with FedEx. Although it is most likely still on it’s way back to Wahoo, CS has already announced the replacement shipping with UPS.
So I can only tell good things about CS in my case so far. Now fingers crossed for a quick delivery.

FWIW, I think your problems are an exception and not the norm. I have had a Kickr v4 (2018) that I bought new in the spring of 2019 on close out at my LBS. it’s been used for 5 years without any issues. I also have a kickr climb and fan. Every wahoo product I’ve owned over the years has worked flawlessly. I even owned their reflkt and their iPhone dongle.

Yesterday the exchange unit arrived. It does look like it’s a refurbed one. As long as it’s working, I don’t mind. On the other hand, having purchased a brand new one that died after just two weeks, getting a replacement that is not as new doesn’t feel entirely right. Especially when noticing that the little black plastic cap from the middle of the flywheel has come undone already in the box, and a second time during setup (and why is it just loosely stuck in there in the first place?)
I noticed a slight rubbing of the sliding mechanism the former unit didn’t have. However, I only noticed it when setting up the unit and moving it back and forth by hand.
So until now I can only tell about a good CS experience. What I can tell about the Kickr, remains to be seen.
