KICKR Shift Simple Gearing

This may sound odd but what is the most simple gearing set up? I only use my KICKR SHIFT for fitness (injured runner). I don’t need the bike to resemble real gears (cogs and chain wheels) and would be quite happy TBH with graduated levels of resistance of, say, 1-20 to allow me to use the workouts that need to be done in level mode. Would a single chain ring / 13 cogs be the only way of doing something like that?

So…ERG mode?

No, a manual set up for those rides or assessments that do suit Erg mode.

You can customize the gearing on the Bike Shift to anything you wanted, even setting tooth counts for cogs. If you set it up as a 1x with 13 cogs then you’d only have 13 levels of resistance.

My irl bike has Di2 with Front Shift Next and I’ve set it up so the right paddle does ALL the heavy lifting (i.e. big paddle for easier gear, small paddle for harder gear) so that when it reaches a certain gear ratio, the front derailleur switches automagically. The left shifter’s big paddle allows me to toggle between small and big front rings if I ever want that on the fly (I don’t) while the small paddle allows me to scroll through pages on my bike computer.

This should help:

Edit: I should have added that I don’t have a Kickr Bike but sure would like one
