Yup it was all done on rollers. I decided to not switch between the rollers and the turbo a few days after I did the 5 rides in a row on week 4 of the prep plan.

To be honest, it was a pain in the arse riding almost 9 hours on the roller. Not being able to really stand and ride on the rollers did not help at all

DarrenWCKam Congratulations on completing your Knighthood quest!! Completing on rollers certainly put a different spin into keeping your mental focus for that long. Well Done Sir!!

Will be cheering you on for your quest too!
In the mean time, train smart! Remember #tuhntf

I will be taking time off the bike for at least a week. Even today’s 30 minutes recovery ride is a ‘no’ ‘no-oh-oh’, ‘nope’, ‘nein’ for me. Hahaha.

Thank you Sir!

Actually you know what? I almost fell off both the bike and the rollers when I was trying to get clipped in before starting one of the rides (I think it was Attacker).

If you ever want some drop me an email (jcjordan@internode.on.net) and I will happily send some on.

Weather here the last couple of weeks has been very much training indoors supportive with 30+mm of rain a day

Haha thanks for the offer Sir James but I shall give it a pass for now.

Weather here has been really really hot and humid and was actually very thankful the weather was fair on 28th May.
We could do with a little more rain though… even at night, the temperature is well in the 30s and can be as high as 32. :face_exhaling:

Congrats on your huge accomplishment Sir Darren! Amazing to me how anyone can do ten Sufferfest on a row on Rollers😳
Haha I revived a 3 year old thread. Yay! Still mean what I said.

Thank you Isa! I remember up in the thread, I’m not the only one who did the quest on rollers, but i have to say, it was quite a challenge to have completed it on the rollers with all the fatigue both physically and mentally (especially) heading into the last 2 or 3 rides.

I hope you’re preparing well for your quest. God speed and hope everything is going well for you and your family and I’m very sorry to learn of your situation a couple of weeks back :pensive:.

Be strong we are here to give you the support in whatever way we can (and perhaps tease you along the way in your quest ).

Thank you Darren, I really appreciate your support. I’m preparing as much as I can at the moment, unfortunately it seems like I have a bit of shoulder muscle issue that’s not healing up as fast as I would like so I can’t do at many rides as I would prefer. But I am still preparing!( It’s nothing time and good stretches/range of motion exercises won’t heal.)

I have never tried Rollers but given I have almost fallen off the trainer after a hard workout, I’m not sure I’m safe to even try them out :joy:

Get well soon!
I’m still recovering from falling off the bike 2 weekends ago. Right now it’s just my wrist which still hurts a little from trying to break the fall.

Speaking about rollers, I have traded it off for a used Kickr v3. My experience has been alright with the rollers apart from the falls when I first got on the rollers and another when the band snapped half way while riding.
The only 2 things I haven’t mastered on the roller would be to get myself perched on the saddle without holding onto the grille and getting off the bike after unclipping without holding on to that same grille.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that! Hope it heals up quickly!

The band snapping mid ride sounds like a far too exciting event. :flushed: I’m glad you survived the “full Rollers experience”!

It must be comparatively relaxing to get on a Kickr.
