Thank you very much Sir Darren. Congratulations on your new position!
Congratulations on the tremendous suffering Sir CharlessHippo
I’ve now read through all your posts in here and FB, Sir Patrick @CharleesHippo!
Massive congrats!!!
Totally crushed it! Now, since I missed pretty much everything but the start, when is your next one?
100% not my idea. If it has to be ironed, it doesnt get purchased. I think that may have been @DameLisa
SAINT SIR PATRICK
Aww…good people.
Now for the mandatory post: Go back and fill out the form! The Minions are waiting.
Thank you very much Sir James! I did complete & submit the form yesterday. Looking forward to the Minions response . Thanks for your support while in the Tucson area. I may complete Mt Lemmon in fall?! We shall see how a 12 week Leave of Absence develops.
I’ll be signing up for a six week plan that starts at the end of June. Hope to be on top of The Mountain this year, again.
Sounds nice Sir James. When in fall might be a good time (historically guessing) to ride Mt Lemmon? When does the persistent seasonal snow start to fall? Thanks.
Recommend late September through Halloween. After that you are at risk for Winter weather on top even though it is still “Summer” type weather at the bottom.
I also recommend bringing something to wear in case a “freak” storm appears. I have been caught in solid downpours while riding. Another piece of advice is being three LARGE water bottles with hydration. There’s only one reliable place to get water.
Thank you Sir James. Always nice to get insight from the locals
DM me and maybe we can meet at LeBuzz for a coffee. Ive met several nobility there who were heading up.
Liisa & I had a tasty breakfast/ coffee there before heading south through Rio Rico to stay in Patagonia. Nice gravel riding around there.
definitely is “the place” to go to for both locals and visitors. For those wondering, LeBuzz is a coffee/food/pastry shop at the base of Mount Lemmon in Tucson Arizona. This is usually the “kick off” location for several different rides in the area.
As to Patagonia, if fear commercialization of it. Several well known journals mentioned it. It’s a really great place with some awesome gravel riding.
Lastly, I look forward to riding with anyone who comes down here. Message me with the details.
Oh, and I’m participating in a six week climbing event where we end at the top of Mount Lemmon. Starting at the end of June.
Psssh. I could EASILY climb Mount Lemmon in six weeks.
In six weeks you could walk up Mt. Lemmon.
In 6 weeks I could walk from my house, to Mt. Lemmon, up, down and at least part of the way back. Of course, this would be without sleep so…give or take a week or so
Look up Easy Peasy Lemmon Squeezy. It’s a series of six week rides that start at the base of Mount Lemmon and increase in length, and thus difficulty, each week. The increase is approximately five miles per week, with the last week going to Mount Lemmon Ski Valley.
That sounds really cool, actually! What a clever idea - wonder if Mount Washington would adopt that?
(announcer voice: Mount Washington would NOT, in fact, do this. Ever.)
