Let’s see your pain cave

Thanks it is a new build from an NOS 2011 5 series Madone. I’ve got TLR wheelset with tubeless setup for outdoors.

My radon measurement mounted in my pain cave.

That’s a manometer measuring the function of your radon mitigation system. Def not good breathing radon. You should get an actual radon measurement done if you haven’t recently.

Love the bottle wall! And the side-on of a wire rack is clever - still lets the air through - if you have the space.

That’s what this is, right?

That’s a motion detector.

That’s a motion detector.

Huh. I wonder why the previous guy put in a motion detector. Anyway, thank you. I have a radon evacuation system, but I should get a monitor to ensure it’s working properly.

Another +1 for the bottle racks. Excellent job.

And +3 (being the third number) for the Pythonabilia.

Open space garage for 2 cars about 6 or 7 bikes  some storage, two large fish tanks, home office, library, sons playground and my corner of pain with my first road bike on the wahoo kikr core plus the climb and the headwind and a rockerplate. A multitask home gym and an eliptical bike. All for fun and some swet and pain :muscle::man_biking::grin:

Not a very neat pain cave at the moment but the boys (2 pictured - Rafiki 12 months, Monty 6 months) are very happy the girls (wife and daughter) have let us take over the sunroom!

Finished up my pain cave, builded it in stages. Hard to show the whole room, but very happy with it!

WOW! All the jealous! :flushed:

How do you have the monitor set up in front of your bike? I’m trying to do something similar, rather than having it propped on a chair…

I bought a stand, looks like this:

It’s quite neat, officially a touchscreen stand and not that expensive, 60 euros. The brand is alltec but have seen it under different names. Dutch site for those who want to image search it:

This is from a long time ago, so apologies for only just now noticing. I see you have A KICKR CLIMB in your setup on a Lifeline rocker plate. I’ve thought about a Saris MP-1 before, but Saris actually says not to use a CLIMB with their rocker plate. Are you still using the CLIMB on the Lifeline? Does it feel safe and stable? Thanks!

Question for pain cave storage….what kind of storage solution do you use to store your bike parts? Do you store by bike or type of component? We’ve ventured into the multi-bike realm and it’s tough to keep track of what goes with which bike and what part is for what. Suggestions and photos would be awesome. TIA. :pray:t3:

I do a combination of the above. No pics right now, but I have a rolling rack of open plastic trays of different sizes on about 5 tilted forward shelves that hold the trays. That’s mostly assorted items of groups of parts. That came AFTER I already had filled a rolling tool chest of about 6 drawers with various parts by groups. And THEN I bought a new MTB in 2016, first NEW one in 18 years, so it got a dedicated large (but no longer large enough) tray that lives on a table close to my workstand. A new roadbike in 2019 led to another tray on that same table. That bike gets far more miles than the MTB now, but most of the maintenance is drivetrain and brakes, other than cleaning.
My “SYSTEM” isn’t the greatest because I never have time to REORGANIZE it all. I’ve unloaded old, ahem, actually NEW old parts a few times when I found someone I could basically donate them to who would use them or put them to use for friends of theirs. That satisfied me far more than selling them to get more cash from them. I just want them to have a life, frankly.

It’s time for me to revisit the REORGANIZE need again. Think through what makes sense to YOU and organize accordingly. It’ll likely change over time, but If there’s one thing I realize, it is that I need a good SYSTM! It’ll save me a lot of time not lost searching for tools or parts.

Yeah, I did mean to spell it that way.
