I love the concept of crowd sourcing music for the workouts. I think one of the limitations that Wahoo has is paying licensing fees for the music and I guess it is also difficult to find a mix that works for a variety of tastes. Peloton took the path of seeking forgiveness later whereas Sufferfest/SYSTM seems to play by the rules with respect to licensing.
It would be cool to create more playlists for workouts and I wonder if the same concept might work for video to go along with some of the NoVids.
I really like the Sufferfest for the music choices 99% of the time. Itās also a great way to discover some new music.
Does anyone else love the intro for G.O.A.T?
Itās a song called Pocket Full of Matches by Flagship. Weirdly I canāt find it on Spotify, but itās here on YouTube. Only 970 views!??
Congrats! I did it two days ago and made it all the way until the last minute of 9th hammer. It was kinda like maxing out on a ramp test, I just totally crapped out. I wasnāt really noticing the sound track. Maybe next time.
For this project I used Audacity since itās free and easy. This was meant to be a simple project to slap together for myself. But as it wasnāt the best, and I can definitely hear some of the worst transitions even when Iām not listening for them.
In the past Iāve used MixMeister which has been a great software for this type of project. And I used it to produce a number of mixes in the past. But it wasnāt free and my license expired years ago.
If I ever get the time or the bug I might redo this mix in MixMeister to improve the song transitions.
I have a certain playlist of songs that I use for HM and I do try to start them right at the beginning of the ramp. But I havenāt tried syncing them up. And as us say, syncing them to the beginning of the constrained effort with the pauses and restart could be tricky. Not a bad idea, tho. For the ramp you could do 1 minute clips for each step. And maybe let a song play for a couple steps in a row if you really like it. With each step getting progressively more intenseā¦
I have a playlist of Sufferfest songs on Spotify and Apple Music. They differ a bit as not all songs are available on both platforms.
But this song is definitely my Apple Music playlist. I love this song. Itās either the first or second song on that playlist. Itās more of a chill or warm up song. But itās a family favorite because we love the vibe.
Newb question for you Sir Evan @emacdoug. I just downloaded your MP3 file and it opens in Music on my Mac. Is all I need to do is wait until 23 secs in to start it?
Nvm. Figured it out. Def gonna use this for The Wahoolimabob Tour
Iām so bummed! I really like Sir Evanās Playlist, but today I forgot about it until the fifth or sixth hammer (maybe it was during Coke Machine). Ugh! Didnāt want to do a bunch of Hammers over again. Barely got through nine of them. Cadence death spiral the last 10 seconds of number nine.
