New Workout Drop: Experience Dimensional Training Load (DTL) with Mike Cotty

Hey everyone!

We’re excited to roll out a brand-new workout! Join Mike Cotty on one of his favorite local roads up the iconic Col de Vence. As you tackle the mixed terrain, the workout uses targeted intervals to isolate all four dimensions of your 4DP profile:

  • Neuromuscular Power - NM
  • Anaerobic Capacity - AC
  • Maximal Aerobic Power - MAP
  • Functional Threshold Power - FTP

What You’ll Experience

Moving beyond standard metrics like TSS, this session demonstrates how different intensities, cadences, and power spikes contribute to the true “full cost” of a ride.

You’ll feel firsthand how a low-cadence, high-torque grind taxes your physiological systems differently than a high-velocity spin, and how quickly micro-sprints fill up your load meters. Ride along and watch your DTL accumulator bars update on screen as you push through each segment.

Why Ride It?

By the end of the session, you’ll have a much deeper understanding of your Wahoo Analytics. You’ll learn how to interpret your own post-ride data, pinpoint exactly which physiological systems you’re developing, target your personal limiters, and structure your training to build a more complete, resilient engine.

Is this similar in content (video, sir Mike encouraging the rider, etc) to the OL videos? I note that it is in the “Wahoo Fitness” category. I enjoy many of the OL videos. The WF are mostly dogs so I don’t try them when they come out. Contrast many of the OL videos where the camera angles change throughout the ride and MC encourages you to SBT gravel where a single drone follows a rider who doesn’t say anything. That was a “one and never again.”
