Just a note that if one has the SYSTM app on multiple devices, or copied an older laptop to a more current one and still have the old laptop, one could (in theory) use the other device and simply not update the workout and (in theory) one could ride Joyride in all its glory, like this morning (in theory).
It wasn’t horrible. Actually better than a number of other recent remasters.
But it’s definitely NOT the same Joyride. It’s a completely different feel. Not really a Joyride, unless you’re being facitious (which would actually be somewhat SUF).
It does have some good SUF references. I would update it to be more SUF and rename it to be a different name.
I agree the remastered version is far from the original. That said, standing back from that comparison, I don’t think it’s anywhere near as terrible as I thought before riding it today - music works, text is appropriately SUFed, and video works for me. Yes, maybe climbs/attacks would be better for MAP intervals, but then I barely get to look up anyway during this one…
Dear Sir Eric, i appreciate you comment. For me it was difficult decision but wahoo since the beginning tray to light sufferlandria and we accepted, now change the core of videos instead of applying more technology on training plans and integration. I hope some day, the real pain, agony and misery will be back! I will be there!
Joyride was never one of my favorite rides but I did enjoy it. This ‘remaster’. not so much. We all have our own favorites (mine was always Power Station) and they seem to have done a great job at destroying some of the best rides for everyone.
My annual subscription runs out in a few months. I don’t see any way I renew.
Perhaps they should change the name from Wahoo to Boohoo!
Couldn’t agree more. It’s almost a sin that such great creations were EVER subjected to the potential of having to be rePLASTERED.
Seems to me, rights to whatever music or video involved ought to have been negotiated as permanent rights to use in this specific app. Just isn’t right to destroy such craft!
I agree with the sentiment, obviously, since I let mine go in May of 2024, renewed only monthly from Jan. of '25 thru April of '25, but now I’m JUST HOPING there WILL BE A REASON to return by the cold season of '25, maybe late Autumn?
It will take some seriously good effort on reMASTERing to bring that about, AND probably also a better ANNUAL PLAN that saves NO LESS THAN 3 MONTHS off the annual rate. That’s really the only way I come back for annual again ever, and that’s pushing it. It sure isn’t worth $15 x 3 months just for maybe a couple rides indoors per month when it’s far better to be outside!
