Polar H10 drop

Hope you have better luck than me. The design of the wahoo is poor in my opinion. The pod resting directly on the chest, unlike H10 which has the strap between the pod and skin, allows for sweat to enter the battery case. Went through 3 wahoo hrms with corroded battery contacts.

There was a solution to the leaking, duck tape…just leave the contacts free.

FWIW: My nearly 14 year old classic Garmin HRM strap still works fine. The body is a flexible plastic piece about 10" long. The “Deluxe” Garmin strap that replaces much of that with elastic fabric is much less reliable. Of late, I’ve been using a Polar Verity Sense optical arm strap and it’s worked without issue.

Should have learned from MacGyver that duct tape solves everything!

This is an embarrassing admission, but in the interest of helping someone else out, here goes…

I have an H10 which was flawless (gave up on TICKR too), until I changed the battery. Then started having drop outs. Did all the usual problem solving, then reached out to customer service. They asked me to check that I had installed a CR2025, not a CR2032. Please, I thought, no way would I get that wrong. Turns out I did. The TICKR uses CR2032, which I had spares of, so I installed one without thinking :flushed:

Anyway, since I reinstalled the correct battery, no issues.

A ha! I too had/have spare 2032s and I’m sure that is what is in my H10 now. Not an embarrassing admission. Thanks so much for sharing.

The H10 comes with 2025… i’ve been running mine with 2032’s for 3 years(ish) with no issues at all.
