Request for Virtual Shifting Support on KICKR V5 (2020) with Zwift Cog + Click

Hi everyone and mostly the Wahoo Support Team,

I’m a long-time Wahoo user with a KICKR V5 (2020), and I recently upgraded my setup with the Zwift Cog and Zwift Click. While everything connects correctly and works in ERG mode, I’ve learned that virtual shifting is not currently supported on the KICKR V5.

I understand this feature is available on newer models like the KICKR CORE (2022+), KICKR MOVE, and Zwift Hub — and that hardware differences may be part of the reason it’s not yet enabled on the V5. However, given the capabilities of the KICKR V5 and its longevity, I’d love to see virtual shifting support added via a firmware update if technically feasible.

Many of us with the KICKR V5 are still loyal Wahoo users, and adding virtual shifting would go a long way in keeping our setups current and competitive with newer options. Even if it’s offered in beta or with limited support, I (and many others) would be grateful to have access to that feature.

Is there any chance this could be considered for a future update, or is there a technical limitation that makes it impossible?

Unfortunately, this isn’t possible on the V5. There isn’t enough space to store the protocol required by Zwift’s virtual shifting on the V5.
